Barcelona is famous for its flamboyant architecture, the vibrancy of its arts community, and its commitment to funding permanent art installations in public spaces. The sinuous lines of the buildings, full of intrigue and sculptural elements present photographic opportunities at every turn. Barcelona and I became entwined in a sort of creative dance. For me, it became an exercise in letting go of my expectations of where or how I should shoot film. Instead, the city’s playful energy imbued and expanded the creative process for me. My journey in Barcelona was a significant turning point in my career and some of these compositions will always be among my favourites.
